Wilder Nomad Adventure

Wilder’s Trip to Sioux Falls, SD

Finally The Wilders are getting to travel.  After we left Wichita after all of Curt’s doctor appts, which were all good for a change, we drove to Ponca City, Oklahoma to get a couple recalls done on the truck and have airbags put on the underneath side of the truck and I will say it really made a difference.  We left Ponca City to head to Lawrence to see our Chiropractor.  We stopped at Moline and Howard to see family and to drop Sadie off at my sister and brother in laws.   We left Lawrence, Ks on June 18th and drove to Sioux Falls, SD where we stayed 3 nights at Tower Campgrounds.  It was a very nice.  Sioux Falls is a very historic town.  On Friday, we decided to go to the Zoo.  It was a nice cool day and we love Zoos.  When we got to the parking lot,  I took this picture and Curt wanted me to put the caption as:  Lions, Tigers and Bears Oh My!  haha. Then he got so tickled at himself.  The man is so retarded sometimes. haha

We couldn’t go into the exhibits but we could see everything that was outside.

This giraffe was made out of heavy wire.  It was really neat.

These monkeys were called Black and White Colobus Monkeys.  I thought they looked like a skunk.

These birds were beautiful.  We saw Kangaroos, camels, hippos, tigers, bears and many other animals.  We really had a fun day.

These flamingos were such an odd color.  I had never seen them this light of a pink and white.

On Saturday, we went to the Historic Courthouse and it was really interesting.  The building is beautiful and it was actually open so we could tour it.  Below are pictures, I took of the courthouse and some of the interesting things inside.

After we left the courthouse, we went to the Pettigrew Home & Museum.  It was really interesting.  In fact all the homes in this area are refurbished to the original look on the outside.  There are some massive homes in this area and all I could think about was, I am sure happy I don’t have to clean them.

This window in this home was gorgeous so I had to have a picture.

When we left from the Pettigrew home, I could see two steeples in the distant and I told Curt he had to go by there because I wanted to see it.  I was sure it was a church and I could tell it was really big.  I couldn’t believe how huge it was.  I jumped out to take a picture and I couldn’t get it all in one shot so I took a couple.  It was a Catholic Church and it was beautiful.  They were having mass so there were several cars there.

We then went to Falls Park and it is really pretty.  We stood on the bridge to get pictures and people were fishing in these falls and we saw several fish jumping out of the water.  It was breath taking.

We left Sioux Falls this morning at 7:30 and we drove 431 miles to Bismark, North Dakota where we are staying the night.   When we got to Wahpeton, North Dakota there was this little country church with a cemetery right in the middle of nowhere.  It was so neatly kept and just pretty awesome so I snapped a picture.

We will leave in the morning and will travel 500 miles to Big Timber, Montana and stay at Spring Creek RV Park for 4 nights.  Then we leave there and drive 200 miles to Deer Lodge, Montana where we have reservations at Indian Creek RV Park for 5 weeks.  We are so excited to be able to be in Montana close to the mountains where it is nice a cool and beautiful scenery.  We are having so much fun just doing what we had planned on doing.  Do I miss the kids and our friends and family…….YES YES YES but at the same time we are really enjoying what we are doing. I am so thankful for FaceTime so I can at least see and talk to Tania and Ella.

Until next time~~~~The Traveling Wilder Nomads
