Wilder Nomad Adventure

Wilders’ are traveling again!

Well, we are once again traveling. We traveled to Branson, Missouri for two weeks.  We stayed at Turkey Creek RV Village in Holister, MO  It was just across the bridge from Branson.  It was a really nice park.  We were right by Lake Taneycomo.  I decided to take a walk around the park and when I was walking toward the lake, there were these geese and all the babies.  Oh they were so stinking cute.  They were like little fuzz balls.  As I got closer, the mama’s started directing the little ones to the water.

Lake Taneycomo

The first day there we just drove around and got ourselves use to all the changes Branson is now.  We went and got all of our tickets, we had purchased.  The first show we went and saw was the Doug Gabriel show.  It was really good.

Another day we went to the Veteran’s Museum.  Oh my, that place totally humbled us.  Our freedom is not Free.

I took a lot of pictures, so please bear with me.  I trimmed it down the best I could.

Here are the flags that were displayed.

I feel the pictures speak volumes by themselves.  I will add to them if I feel it needs be.  Just sit back, look at all these pictures and let it humble you as it did us.

The names were on 4 long walls.  So much loss.

I thought the Navajo Code was pretty interesting.

This is so sad!

More loss

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THANK YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS AND FAMILIES THAT SACRIFICED FOR OUR FREEDOMS.

After we left the museum, we drove down the road and we went to a museum of movie and tv vehicles.  It was so cool.  The old pickup in Cars with the voice of Larry The Cable Guy, started talking when a person would stand beside it.  We loved it.  Enjoy the few pictures of some really awesome vehicles.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

Curt wanted to go to the wax museum.  I have been so many times but he wanted to see it and so we went.  Needless to say, he was disappointed but he can say he saw it. lol

Below is the sight and sound theater.  It holds 2000 people and it is privately owned.  It was beautiful and huge and this is where we went and saw the play Jesus.  All I can say is:  The best play I have ever in all my life seen.  We loved it.  The props, live animals, singing was incredible.

Another show that is mind boggling and amazing is REZA.  We watched the whole show with our mouths opened and would look at each other and say,”What????? are you kidding me???? how in the world did he do that?”  It was fabulous.

One night we went to this restaurant.  It was so good and so when my sister got to Branson to spend a few days with us…we went back to eat there again.  It was really good.

As a tradition, we had to go downtown and go to
Dick’s 5 & 10.  We had to try on hats of course. lol

Curt, Sis and I also went the first night to Starving Marvins and it never disappoints.  It was so good.  We ate so many frog legs, I think we hopped out. lol Then we went and played miniature golf. Oh we had so much fun.  Curt and I tied with our score and sister lost by 2 points.  But it was really fun.

Saturday, we went in the rain and went to Silver Dollar City.  We looked like drowned rats by the time we left but we sure had fun.. Poor Curt had to put up with us but truth be known, he loved every minute of our craziness.

Late Saturday night, we drove down to Cooper Creek.  Daddy and Mama loved staying there so Sis and I thought it would be appropriate to sprinkle their ashes there. Curt waited in the truck and we went down to the dock and sat and talked for awhile.  Then we let Daddy and Mama fly high. Sunday was very difficult for me.  I said goodbye to my very best friend, my sister.  Yes….I cried hard and I already miss her so much, but the time we had together in Branson is forever etched into my heart.  As always, we laugh a lot, ate great food and love each other more and more if that is possible.  We continue to solidify our bond.  I truly don’t know how in the world we could be any closer but it seems we are.  After I said my tearful goodbye, Curt and I started heading toward Kentucky.

This bridge we had to cross over the Ohio River.  It scared me and Curt wasn’t crazy about it ether, pulling a 42 foot 5th Wheel.  But we made it.

We stayed the first night in Calvert City, Kentucky.  Then this morning, we drove to Franklin, Kentucky and will be here for 1 week.  Stay tuned for the next blog, because it will be all about our stay in Kentucky. WHOOP WHOOP!!!

Until next time.
