Hello all my Kansas and out of state friends. Well we left Texas and came to Dodge City, Kansas for 1 week and then it will be off to Colby for us to stay indefinitely until this virus crisis is lifted. We decided to stay at the Gunsmoke RV Park in Dodge City.
and left me tell you…..this is a really unique place. We love it. I so wish we could stay here longer than a week but I know we will be back. There are not many campers here but that is okay too. Not many are traveling now due to what the Nation is suffering. Here is our campsite!
When we got here and got all set up, we decided since we had time we would get things more organized and what we didn’t need we would take to storage. So that is just exactly what we decided to do. I made me a makeshift pantry in the back of the camper on the outside. These are just our staples and I will say, I think we will be okay for quite awhile if the nation does have a complete shutdown.
I have taken several pictures so I really want to share those with you. First, I will show you the office were you go to register and get your gate code because this is a gated and I love that.
The owners are so so nice and they are always working to keep the place looking good.
The office and gift shop are so unique and so nice.
The pictures are originals painted by the blonde headed man without a hat on in this Gunsmoke picture. (I can’t remember his name)
This picture is the original picture of Bert Reynolds signing his Marshall Star downtown Boothill.
Outside on the boardwalk is all the amenities you would ever need and posted in such a fun way. They have ice, propane, gifts, game room, women and mens showers and bathrooms, small restaurant, a few groceries, RV parts, a pool and a laundry room.
Yesterday was such a pretty day, so we cleaned inside of the truck and took out all of Sadie’s blankets and beds and gathered up the laundry and I headed to the laundromat. What a fun experience this was. The Laundromat is so nice and clean and they have named all the washers and dryers. I thought this was such a good idea and so fun. There is a rocking chair in the room to sit in while you wait.
So if anyone wants to have a great place to stay and have fun even when very little is opened you should stay here. It is quiet, unique and just a fun place to stay. The owners are so very nice and so accommodating and they go out of their way to make your stay here safe and enjoyable.
Until next time. Happy Trails!!
