I decided I would post again even though I don’t have a lot to post about but I do have a few stories…..I know you all are thinking, I always have stories and perhaps you are right. So here goes. When we got to Colby we were at the Fairgrounds and it rained everyday except for 1. It was so darn muddy plus we had acquired a water leak which didn’t help the situation at all. So we decided we had to find somewhere else to go but Curt said we would never get out of the place we were due to all the mud and rain and the trailer had sunk in the mud some. Well we talked to the kids and Tania said she thought Bill, her father in law, could help. I called the other RV park here in Colby to see if they had any room for us and they did. I was thrilled but we still had the problem of getting the trailer out of the mud. Curt said we would stay till today and maybe by that time we would be able to get out with Brett’s truck hooked on to ours and both in 4 wheel drive we could get out. Well you see, God always has a better plan and the right plan. On March 31st, I got up early to get my shower and we didn’t have hot water. Now you see we have hot water on demand but no hot water but we had propane. Curt called Blake at Becker Auto and Trailers and he said we really needed to bring it in right away because with all the trouble we have had he needed to get to the bottom of all of it. So we started getting everything ready to try to get out and head to Beliot. Tania called and gave us Bill’s number and Curt called him and bless his heart, Bill and one of his workers brought a big loader and hooked on to our truck and pulled us out like it was nothing. We were so happy and thrilled and I told Bill it was sure nice to know people in high places. So off to Beliot we went. Becker Auto and Trailers got us a motel room and when we dropped off the RV and went to the motel, I took all my Norwex in and I cleaned the room top to bottom. We stayed the night and at 9:00 am on April 1st, Curt went across the street where the RV was. Blake had worked on it the night before and was there working on it when Curt got there. Curt called me around 10:00 and said he was almost done with it and to get checked out of the motel and we were heading back to Colby. We had made a list of everything that was wrong on our brand new RV (which were 11 items) and Blake and his worker fixed it all and replaced several things and both of us were so grateful. I am sure KeyStone is going to have an ear full by the time Blake finishes up with them. But we love our RV and now we love it even more. So I called Terrill at Whistle Stop RV to see if we could get in on April 1st and she said of course. It wasn’t even an April Fool’s Joke. lol. So we pulled into spot 48 and it is really nice. Terrill and Tom are the owners and they are so very nice. We are right across the street from Walmart and Ella thinks that is the best.
There are cabins here well.
This is the office which due to the virus it is closed and we do everything by phone.
The laundry room is nice but it is only open to the long term campers and we each have a separate code and only a couple can be in at one time.
I got up early yesterday and did the laundry and when I stepped out of the trailer it was as cold as I have felt in a long time plus the truck was covered in ice. We decided to wrap the hydrant and of course we turned on our heaters on all our tanks. It was a good think we did to because last night it got down in the teens.
This morning I got up and stripped the bed. Well, Sadie loves to sleep and I have never seen a dog like her. I had to pull the covers off the bed to strip it and all the covers fell on her and she never moved. If you look really close all you can see is her nose. When we got the bed remade and pulled the covers off of her she never moved and never missed a snore. lol lol
It is so nice to be so close to the kids. They had us over for supper the first night we were here and it was so good. Brett cooked pork loin chops on the grill and Tania had cheese biscuits and rice pilaf and corn and man it was great. We all played Uno and Ella won. Then we came back to the RV. Tania did my laundry when we were at the fairgrounds because there wasn’t a laundry there. Bless her heart….I so appreciated it. Ella made me a bunny out of her socks and I Love it. She really is a crafty little thing.
This morning, Tania texted me and asked me if she could bring Ella by while she ran errands and of course I said sure. Oh it is so nice to be right here and get to see them anytime. She brought her by and we played Yatzee. I had taught her how to play the other day and she loved it. Well she got a Yatzee and she was thrilled.
After we played 2 games of that, she wanted to get out the dominoes and make a train. So down on the floor we went and we started the train. I told her the story of my Grandma Workman. When I was little we would build houses out of dominoes and cards and when we would get them all built Grandma would pretend she was a tornado and she would run through the room and knock all our houses over. Ella loved that story.
Tania came and picked her up and we kissed and hugged as much as possible and she said, MiMi can I come back tomorrow? I said, Honey you can be here as much as your mama will allow.” She squealed like all little girls and out the door she went. I know now how my mama and sister have felt always having their Grandchildren close. I am loving it.
I made potato soup for supper. It is still so cold here and it warmed our bellies plus it was really good. I never make potato soup that I don’t think of Melinda O’Hair. She was crazy about that soup. I wish she was close and I would give her a bunch.
Well, that is all that is going on in the Wilder camp. We will get to be with the kids on Easter and that is something we all are looking forward too. We are so blessed in so many ways and we thank God each day for all our blessing.
Happy Trails till next time.
