Hello to all of you. Since I really don’t have much to post about, since we are not traveling right now, I decided to highlight people in my life, one at a time. So this post is going to be about my sister…..my best friend:
I know most of you know my sister and how close we are and how very much I love her, but I just want to share some of the things we have done and some of of the pictures I have. If I shared every memory and shared all the pictures I had, it would be a novel. My sister has always been there for me, right or wrong. She has always been someone I have looked up to and she has made me a better person. She is loving, kind, smart, talented and funny. She is such a good mother, fabulous MeeMaw, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She loves with her whole heart and there isn’t a better person on this planet in my eyes.
Below is Sister with Ella when she was a baby!
As a little girl, I called her TeeDee, so needless to say, when Tania was little she called her Aunt TeeDee and the bond they share is as strong now as it was then. Sister always said, she didn’t want to have girls but when Tania was born, then Ashley….that statement kind of went out the window. lol When we were young of course we fought, tattled like any siblings, but she was always very protective of me. She didn’t want anyone to be mean to me and she would step in the middle of it if she thought someone was hurting me in any way. I remember her grabbing mama’s hand to not spank me. Well, even though we are old, she still would fight anyone if they would try to hurt me and I would do the same for her. I have so many memories of all the fun we have had. Daddy, made a bag swing in our big tree outside of the back door. He tied a huge rope to a gunny sack full of hay onto the big tree limb. We would crawl up on the propane tank and jump on that swing and ride double for hours. Well, one weekend, Curt, Kjell, Sis and I went to Cowtown in Wichita and guess what we found….yup….a bag swing.
We had such a fun time that weekend. Here are a few more pictures of that weekend.
We would ride bikes for hours and we would go up to Carters hill and coast all the way down till we would have to pedal. There wasn’t anyone I wanted to spend time with than my sister and to this day it is the same. I remember she would get so mad at me because she hated June bugs and I would chase her with them. lol. And of course we always had to do the dishes and yes you guessed it, she always had to go to the bathroom when it was time to do the dishes. One night, mama went to Eastern Star and we were to stay home with Daddy and it was time to do dishes and she was going to wash. She opened the cabinet under the sink to get the soap and grabbed a mouse instead. She screamed and of course I screamed and Daddy came running in and when he found out what was the matter he was not to happy. hahaha. I remember one 4th of July, we were outside shooting off firecrackers and she always scared me with them. But we had an old hollow tree and so we were throwing firecrackers in that old tree and it made the coolest sound. Well, Daddy told us to stop doing that and when he went back into the house. Well, as soon as he was inside we started throwing those firecrackers back into that old tree. Yup….it caught fire. Needless to say, we got in big trouble over that one. Oh the memories just flood my mind.
When she went off to collage, I was lost. I missed her so much, I thought I was going to be sick to my stomach for the rest of my life. One time, I got to go back with her when she left to go back to school. I got to stay the whole weekend with her and boy did I feel like a big shot. Well, one thing we did was we put all the money we had together right before we were to go back to Howard and we went to a chicken place and we had enough money to buy 24 pieces of fried chicken and we went to the park and ate it all. lol lol
When Tania was born, I don’t think anyone could be as happy about a little girl as my sister. She has always loved her like she was her own and sometimes, they are so much alike, I think maybe sister did have something to do with it. What I do know, that we both love each others kids like our own. Danny and Derek will always have my heart no matter how old they get and I know that Tania will always have sisters heart. We both have been so blessed to not only have each other but to have the parents, children and grandchildren we have.
I will fast forward…She has held me when I have cried my heart out, she has always been there for me when I am happy, sad or mad. She has kept every secret I have ever told her, she has defended me even if I was wrong. She has made me laugh so hard, I truly thought I might die on the spot. There are so many stories I could tell that I truly should write a book on all our adventures. When we are together, we never need anyone else. We have always said, we would someday live together when we are old. lol Here are some of our silly pictures. This first picture is my sister and I, 100%. We will always be on the first row.
I will share a story…we went to Colby to be patients for Tania when she was in dental school. Well, when we got there, we stopped at Sonic to get something to eat. We got chicken strips and fries. We begin eating….I had taken a bite of chicken and sister got chocked and all of a sudden I saw a piece of French fry come out her nose….well that did it…..we both started laughing and she had slobbers coming out her mouth laughing and snot coming out of her nose and I knew I had chicken falling out of my wide open mouth from laughing so hard I truly thought we would die……well when we finally got control….we looked up and all the workers at Sonic was staring at us…..That just started the laughter all over again.
We have had many trips to Branson some times with family and times by ourselves and so many memories there. Here are some of the pictures from our fun times at Branson.
Then of course at our wedding. No matter where we go or where we are at, we have fun.
When I lived in Texas, Mom and Dad came and went to Lake Palastine with their 5th wheel to stay for a couple weeks. As I lived in Tyler, Texas and Lake Palastine wasn’t far from Tyler. So I asked sister to come for a week and I took a week off of work and we spent a whole week with Daddy and Mama and let me tell you that is a week we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We played spades, went to the museum and we fished alot. There was one night we were playing spades and sister of course said something about her chiropractic treatment she had and of course exaggerated it a lot and I truly don’t think I ever saw Daddy laugh as hard as he did right then. We all had to put our cards down and we laid our heads on the table and laughed long and hard. Gosh we had so much fun that week.
Then of course our motorcycle trips to Colorado. We stayed one night with friends on our way to the Colorado Mountains. My god, we all had such a blast.
.
Traveling on the bikes was an experience I will never forget. It was liberating and so much fun doing it with my sister. We made a million memories. We were in Wyoming and it was getting late and we were still in Yellowstone National Park and we finally found a place to stay and the morning we got up to head out again, it was so cold. There was ice all over the bikes and we put on as many clothes as we could get on. We laughed so hard in all the gear we had on.
Everywhere we ever go no matter where it is and we are together, we have the best time.
So to close…..All I can say to you Sister…..is thank you for being my heart and soul. You truly make me a better person and there are not big enough words to express how very much I love you. I can’t wait to make more memories. I will never ever have enough time with you. Even in the worst situations, we always seem to get tickled and have fun somewhere along the way. I thank God everyday for you and I am so blessed to not only have you for my sister but to truly call you my Best Friend.
I love you Bessie Now and In Eternity~~~Sadie
