Wilder Nomad Adventure

Mother’s Day and Misc Babble

Hello to you all:

I hope your Mother’s Day was very blessed.  I know spending time with Tania made my Mother’s Day perfect.

Brett cooked a beef tenderloin and it was complete perfection.  Man that guy can flat cook on the grill. That tenderloin literally melted in your mouth.  You could cut it with a fork.

Tania made cheesy potatoes which were to die for and garlic bread and I brought homemade brownies.  We played dominoes after the dishes were done.

They gave me a beautiful yard whirligig that is a colorful peacock. Peacocks are Ella’s favorite.

Ella made me a tee towel with her little hand prints on it. This is my favorite.  I almost cried when I got it.

They gave me a Mom heart bowl to put my earrings and rings in at night.  Isn’t it beautiful? I love it.

I would say I am very spoiled. Oh how I love spending time with all three of them and we are only a couple miles away.

I keep Ella Monday through Thursday and she wanted to make something special for her mama so we looked on Pinterest and she picked out what she wanted to do.  So first we had to make salt dough.  We got it all mixed then you have to knead it for 10 minutes.  Ella said she could do it and so I said, “sure go ahead.”  Well she made it 4 minutes then she said, “MiMi you have to take over.”  haha so I kneaded the last 6 minutes.

Then it has to sit for 20 minutes.  So we waited and then you roll it out, cut your shapes and bake for 2 hours.  Cool it, then paint and decorate.  When we were shopping for paint, etc. she said, “MiMi my mom won’t let me have glitter.”  Well, I now know why. haha. I am still vacuuming glitter but we sure had fun and she was so please with the outcome; and to me, that was all that mattered.

Every Morning at 7:15 am, Tania brings Ella to us.  She comes in the door in her jammies and has her blanket wrapped around her with her bag of clean clothes and her book bag.  Well, we lay in bed and play on snapchat for a little while, visit and then she is ready to take her shower to start her day.  She got braces and she told me she got to pick out the color she wanted.  Well, she picked Teal.  Not blue but Teal.  I think she looks so cute in them and she is doing really well with them.

She said to me one morning. “MiMi mom makes me floss and that is the worse part but she does clean peoples teeth so I guess she knows what she is talking about.” hahaha.

One day last week, Ella was looking in the cabinet where I keep all my Moji Pods and candles and she said, “MiMi, this is a mess, do you care if I organize it all for you?”  Of course, I told her to go for it.  Well, I figured she would get it all out and lose interest but she didn’t.  She got them all organized for me.  Then when she was putting them all back in the totes she said, “MiMi, I really think you have to many of these. Can I have some?”  I said, “sure you can.”  She said, “MiMi you always share all your stuff with me. All I have to do is ask you and you let me have some of your stash.” hahahaha…….Seriously, this child is my heart and I am laughing at her all the time.  I couldn’t love her more if I tried.

Yesterday, she laid on Sadie’s bed with her and I had to take a picture.  I told her she would have hair all over her and she said, “I don’t care, you can use your roller and get it off of me.”  She certainly has an answer to everything. hahaha.

Yesterday, after all her schoolwork was done, she wanted to walk Sadie so we did.  As we were walking we saw some dandelions and she said, “MiMi, remember when we talked about doing an experiment and frying dandelions blossoms?”  I said, “Yes Honey I remember.” She said, “Well, can we do it today?”  So I picked all the good blossoms and we finished our walk and when we got in the house, I googled again to see how to do all the steps.  As I was reading I said,”You are going to try them right?”  She said, “Are you?”  I said, “Well sure I will.”  She quickly said, “Grandpa, are you going to try the fried dandelion blossoms?” Grandpa replied, “Well, sure…..aren’t you?”  She thought a minute and said, “Sure, I’ll try them. MiMi and I are getting ready to do them.”

Soaked in cold salt water, then dry and sprinkle with flour. Then making the batter. She has flour all over her forehead. hahaha. She said, “Grandpa, I’m sorry but you are going to have to vacuum again. MiMi and I have flour all over the floor.” I think we can see who got flour all over the floor and herself. lol. Grandpa told her that would not be a problem.  He told her a good cook is a messy cook. She said, “Well, MiMi and I are definably good cooks.” hahahaha

Then gently dipping them in the batter and dropping them in the hot oil to fry.

Then they are ready to eat.

She tried them and so did Curt and I and to be honest, they really weren’t to bad.  She said, “You know if you were really hungry and you didn’t have anything to eat, you could fix these because there is dandelions everywhere and MiMi can fix anything and make it taste good.”  hahaha

She wanted to save a few so her mama could try them.  When Tania came to pick her up, she tried them as well.

We had a lot of batter left so Grandpa decided we should fry the batter like a funnel cake.  So we did and it was really really good. Ella put cinnamon and sugar on some of hers, powdered sugar on some and left some plain.  She really liked them.  She told us her Daddy made them funnel cakes the other night.  Grandpa put chocolate (of course) and powdered sugar on top of the chocolate and he loved them.

We are still in Colby but we are planning on leaving here on June 7th to head to Wichita. I know a MiMi that will miss a little girl really bad.  I told her I would miss her when we left and without a  heartbeat she said. “I know, I will really miss you to MiMi but we can FaceTime.  You will be here for Thanksgiving, Christmas and my Birthday.” hahaha. Oh that child has an answer to everything and she is exactly right.

Curt has an appointment with Dr. Moore, the infectious disease doctor, on June 8th. Then he will do bloodwork to make sure his kidney function is where they want it to be due to the fact he has been on a very strong antibiotic for over a year. After all that, we will head to St Francis Hospital for Dr. Ammar to do a CT scan on his aorta aneurysm.  Dr Ammar told us he would have to have a CT scan every year at St Francis to make sure the 3 stints he put in is doing what they are suppose to do.  The stints are to keep the aneurysm from growing.  Then on June 9th he will have an echocardiogram with Dr. Chehab.  Hopefully everything checks out perfectly.  From there we will head to Ponca City, Oklahoma to have a recall done on the truck and then we have an appointment to have air bags put on the underneath side in the back of the truck.  I call them cushions but Curt just laughs and says Air Bags.  But Cushions or Air Bags, they will sure help when we hit a bump with the 5th wheel.  It won’t jar the truck so badly and me too.  It always feels like I am going to be bucked out of my seat.  Well maybe not that bad but kind of that bad. hahaha

We will stay in Ponca City, Oklahoma for a week.  While we are there, we will take a day and go see Mama then come back to Ponca City.  It will be a nice day trip.  We plan on leaving Ponca City, Oklahoma and begin heading to Arizona to see my cousin and a good friend of mine then on to Vegas, Oregon and Washington.  I am so excited to maybe get to start traveling some.

Well until next time.  May you all be blessed with Love and Happiness.
