I am back and boy do I have a story for you. Since I posted the last time, everything has went haywire. First of all Curt and I are still fighting the crud. Tuesday, as I was doing the laundry in the laundromat here at the campsite, I started googling best type of TV situations to use as a full time RVer. You see we still don’t have a TV. Well we have a TV but no service. So I researched boosters for internet, boosters for WIFI, etc etc. Well, I finally decided to call DISH Anywhere and talk to someone there. So we decided to go with DISH. I ordered the equipment and we were happy. Well, we had a storm and a power surge and boom we didn’t have any battery. Now you remember we are new to all of this so not knowing how all of it works, puts us at a disadvantage. I mean think about it…..this is a 2020 5th wheel…..YES BRAND NEW. Nothing should go wrong, RIGHT? WRONG! So we put a battery tester on the battery and it said the battery was not good. Great. So we left and drove to Tyler and bought a new battery, a power surge protector and headed back. We put on the surge protector, put the new battery in and tada everything came on for abut 30 seconds. So we called the company where we bought the 5th wheel and they said it was probably the converter. So I started googling where the converter was and we had to take out the central vacuum, a cabinet door, take out the breaker panel, move all the wiring and on the floor screwed down was the converter. Well it was up to me to get it out since Curt can’t get down on the floor. It took me quite a long time because the screws were very tight and they were right up against the wall…..very inconvenient. But I got it out and thank goodness, we are close to Tyler because we actually found a place that had a converter in stock. So we went to get it and I installed it, put the breaker box back in and the door back on. When I plugged it in, it started working. I was pretty proud of myself. Well back to the the TV, our equipment came in and we had quite a time getting it all installed and come to find out the satellite plug in’s on the 5th wheel don’t work. We don’t know why but we have everything plugged directly into the Wally’s and we have TV and that is so nice. We sure don’t realize how many things we take for granted until you don’t have them.
Today we went back to town and order a new mattress for the 5th wheel and it should be here within the week. We are excited about that.
We are meeting one of my best friends to have supper. Can hardly wait to see him. I think we are on the mend finally. We still have a cough but we are feeling pretty darn good.
We have decided on Wednesday we are going to pick up another super good friend that is like family and the 3 of us plus Sadie are heading to Waco, Texas. I want to go to the Silo’s. I can hardly wait. I will take pictures so I can post those.
Now you are all up to date on the Wilder Adventures. So far we haven’t had much down time or much fun. We have been fixing things that either don’t work or have broken. But we like to look at the positives instead of the negatives so we feel because of everything that has happened has forced us to figure out how this monster trailer works and how to fix things. So we still know and feel we are very blessed.
Until, the next time, Happy Trails to all of you.
